Anne Arundel County Day of Action!
Start: Wednesday, July 13, 2022• 5:00 PM
End: Wednesday, July 13, 2022• 7:30 PM

As we've seen in five other jurisdictions across the state, Fair Elections programs help to shift power away from wealthy special interests to residents of the county, moving closer to a local government that is truly reflective of the people. In Anne Arundel County, a bill to put a public financing charter amendment on the November 2022 ballot failed to pass a Council vote. But that’s not the end of the effort.
Local residents are fighting back against the Council's refusal, preparing to mobilize thousands of voters, and using the petition process to put the charter amendment on the ballot, instead. Join us in Annapolis on Wednesday, June 13th to collect petitions from registered county voters and put our county government on the path to being the sixth jurisdiction in the state to implement a Fair Elections program.

There’s a movement happening here in Maryland and throughout the country to start reclaiming our democracy. This is Anne Arundel County’s opportunity to join that movement. RSVP to join us on Wednesday, July 13th!
Qe'll be meeting at the Common Cause MD office at 5pm for quick training and to distribute materials (clipboards, CCMD shirts, pens, and petition materials). Pizza and refreshments will also be provided. Volunteers will then go to early voting centers and other high-traffic locations in the County around 5:30pm to collect petitions. Please dress comfortably.
