Call Your Legislators: Pass the ERIC Bill Before the End of Session

With just under one month left in this year's legislative session, we need all hands on deck to pass the ERIC bill protecting our elections and voters in New York. Below, you'll find all the scripts and information you'll need to call your legislators and advocate for the ERIC bill. Thank you for taking action!

1. Call your State Assembly Member

"Hi, my name is [NAME] and I'm calling from [TOWN/CITY] to urge [ASSEMBLYMEMBER] to support and co-sponsor an important bill to protect New York voters.

A7052C would allow New York to join the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC), an interstate data-sharing organization, to improve the accuracy of our notoriously unreliable voter rolls.

As their constituent, I urge [ASSEMBLYMEMBER] to strengthen and protect our elections by supporting the ERIC bill before the end of session. Thank you for your time."

2. Call Governor Hochul

  • Here's the Governor's number: 518-474-8390
  • Here's a script you can use, but feel free to personalize your message:

"Hi, my name is [NAME] and I'm calling from [TOWN/CITY] to urge Governor Hochul to support and sign A7052C/S6173B (the ERIC bill), which would allow New York to join the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC), an interstate data-sharing organization, to improve the accuracy of our notoriously unreliable voter rolls.

I hope we can count on the Governor's support for this bill so we can strengthen and protect New York's elections and voters. Thank you for your time."
