LOG YOUR CALL: The FL Senate must stop this vicious anti-protest bill in its tracks

Wednesday, April 14th is our last chance to stop Governor DeSantis’s vicious anti-protest bill from passing through the Florida Senate, and we absolutely must act.

This bill, House Bill 1, would enable DeSantis and his allies to shut down any speech they disagree with -- silencing and criminalizing dissent, and threatening to uproot the very foundation of our democracy.

Even though it’s only been passed through one committee -- during a hasty, confrontational hearing less than a week ago -- they’ve already scheduled a vote in front of the full Senate on Wednesday.

Your senator needs to hear from you before the vote. Find their phone number here, and log your call.

Here’s an idea of what to say: “My name is [Name] and I live in [Town]. I’m calling because protests are one of Floridians’ most powerful tools in our efforts to make democracy work for everyone, but House Bill 1 would effectively criminalize dissent in Florida. I ask that you vote against it when it comes to the Senate floor on Wednesday.”
