California Common Cause unequivocally condemns the recently leaked anti-Black, anti-Indigenous, racist, and homophobic comments made behind closed doors by Los Angeles City leaders. We join the call of many others for the elected lawmakers involved to step down for the good of the City.
On top of these hateful comments, the leaked audio also reveals that these incumbent LA City Councilmembers conspired to draw gerrymandered district maps to benefit themselves — at the expense of communities across Los Angeles.
