Tell Your Governor: Don't support Trump's D.C. takeover
President Trump has declared a phony “state of emergency” in Washington, D.C. – and now he’s pressuring governors across the country to send their armed National Guard troops to patrol the streets and enforce this crackdown. [1]
It's obvious this isn't really about crime (which is at record lows in D.C. [2]), but rather a blatant attempt to make D.C. residents feel like they aren't safe in their own homes, suppress dissent, and take attention away from how Trump’s policies are leaving people worse off.
But right now, Republican governors are lining up to appease Trump and send troops to support his takeover. [3] It’s on all of us to speak out now and stop it.
To get started, click the "Make a Call" button. You'll receive a call from an 855 number. Pick up to get connected to your governor.
Once you’re connected, here’s what you could say:
"My name is ____ and I'm a constituent from [CITY].
I’m calling to tell the governor that I oppose any efforts to send our National Guard troops to Washington, D.C to support Trump’s hostile takeover. We need our National Guard troops here in [STATE] to help our communities in times of real crisis – not enforce Trump’s political agenda. Thank you."
If no one picks up, please leave a message – it’ll count!
