Call Your State Legislators: Pass New York For All

The federal administration is determined to put all of our safety at risk, ignoring state sovereignty to pull our communities apart. But here in New York, we won't let them.

All New Yorkers, regardless of immigration status or how long they have been in our state, want to lead open lives, participate in their communities, provide for their family, and access health care without intimidation. ICE raids cruelly separate families, instill terror, and tear our communities apart.

It's more critical than ever to stand up for all New Yorkers, and assert New York values over Trump and ICE's agenda.

That's why we must pass the New York for All Act S2235 (Gounardes) / A3506 (Reyes)

This bill keeps the federal government from coopting state and local officers to enforce federal immigration laws and prohibits sharing sensitive information about New Yorkers' status with immigration authorities. It prohibits ICE from entering non-public areas of state and local property without a judicial warrant. It also ensures that people in custody are given notice of their rights, and starts the process of limiting ICE access to State information databases to protect all New Yorkers' privacy.

New Jersey, Washington, California, and Illinois have already passed similar laws to protect their immigrant communities. Now, New York must follow suit. This bill has gone unpassed in our state for too many years. It's time to put the pressure on our state lawmakers - protecting New Yorkers cannot wait. Call your state lawmakers today and tell them to pass the New York for All Act NOW.

This bill will allow immigrant New Yorkers to live free from fear of family separation and deportation by prohibiting local and state resources from being used to cooperate with ICE.

As their constituent, I urge [LEGISLATOR] to act quickly to pass New York for All, and do everything in their power to protect our immigrant communities here in New York from the federal administration's violent deportation agenda. Thank you."
