BAN Congressional Stock Trading!

U.S. Congress

Trust in government is at an all-time low right now. [1]

And it’s no mystery why: too many lawmakers treat public office like a personal get-rich-quick scheme, consistently making “perfectly timed” stock trades that beat the market.

Ordinary Americans don’t get those odds. Members of Congress do – because they have access to sensitive, nonpublic information about industries they oversee.

Our economy is supposed to be a level playing field. Everyone follows the same rules and has the same information – that's why insider trading is a serious crime.

But when members of Congress quietly trade stocks in specific companies – then turn around to cast votes impacting the share price of those same companies – norms about a level playing field collapse. And public trust collapses with them.

Banning congressional stock trading is a simple idea. Overwhelming majorities of Americans – Republicans, Democrats, and Independents – are on board. [2] That’s why a bipartisan coalition is finally moving the Restore Trust in Congress Act to comprehensively ban congressional stock trading.

Your voice can help seal the deal. Tell Congress you demand an end to lawmakers profiting from insider information >>

We won’t accept a system where politicians can profit from the problems they’re supposed to solve.

Congress must pass the bipartisan Restore Trust in Congress Act to end congressional stock-trading once and for all.
