Jimmy Kimmel just said he’s been “threatened” by Trump’s FCC – which pressured Kimmel to pull his interview with Texas Senate candidate James Talarico from TV. [1]
Kimmel said it plainly, “His FCC threatened me, threatened my show, threatened our network... based on simple editorial decisions.” [1]
This is the same FCC that:
Pulled Kimmel off the air last year over a joke that didn’t land with Chairman Brendan Carr. [2]
Pressured network executives to pull Talarico’s interview from airing on Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show.” [3]
Launched an investigation into “The View” under the “equal time” rule – something talk shows are protected from. [4]
It’s clear Brendan Carr is weaponizing the FCC to push the president’s narratives – and silence voices who don’t fall in line.
Kimmel is just the tip of the iceberg. This is a full-on FCC takeover. Right now, Congress could potentially politicize the FCC even more by confirming a Republican FCC nominee – without a Democratic counterpart.

I am insisting Congress intervene and conduct oversight hearings into the Federal Communications Commission. The Senate must also refuse to confirm Danielle Thumann Severs without a Democratic counterpart.
The recent pattern of pressuring broadcasters to censor political candidates is a direct violation of our freedom of speech.
