Tell Congress: Don’t let Trump punish voters

U.S. Congress

Voters across the country sent a powerful message: they’re ready to move forward – they rejected Trump’s cruel, chaotic agenda loud and clear.

We know from recent history what the next response from the White House could be: punishing voters, candidates, and anyone else who doesn't give him his way.

Even before the election, Trump threatened to slash federal dollars that fund hospitals, housing, and schools in New York City [1] if they dared to vote for now mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani. [2]

And we have every reason to believe he’ll follow through.

In recent months, he has specifically targeted places that didn’t vote for him last year – canceling billions of dollars for trains, tunnels, and clean energy in blue states [3], and even openly bragging about approving disaster aid to states that voted for him but denying it to states that voted against him. [4]

But here’s the good news: Congress has the power of the purse, and they can stop Trump from weaponizing the government against the people they represent… if they have the political will to do it.

SIGN THE PETITION: Tell Congress to block any attempts to punish New York City, California, Virginia, New Jersey, or anywhere else that voted against Trump last night >>

Trump has threatened to slash federal dollars that fund hospitals, housing, and schools for New Yorkers because they dared to vote for mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani.

And we have every reason to believe he’ll follow through. In recent months, he has specifically targeted places that didn’t vote for him last year – canceling billions of dollars for trains, tunnels, and clean energy in blue states, and rejecting disaster aid for blue states.

Our lawmakers must make it clear: no president can cut off funding just because he doesn’t like how a state or city voted.

Congress must assert its power of the purse and block any attempts to punish New York City, California, Virginia, New Jersey, or anywhere else that voted against Trump in the November 2025 elections.
