Tell Congress: Reject MAGA’s attacks on our free speech

Trump and his cronies think that the recent horrifying political assassination is all the pretext they need to escalate their government crackdown on free speech.
Here’s what they’re saying:
- Stephen Miller is vowing to use the full weight of the government to “disrupt, dismantle, and destroy” left-leaning organizations – which he’s blaming for the shooting without a shred of evidence. [1]
- Attorney General Pam Bondi is warning the government will “absolutely target you” if they suspect you of “hate speech” [2] – which Trump is defining as anyone who treats him “unfairly”. [3]
- and Trump himself is demanding the people who peacefully protested him in a D.C. restaurant be “put in jail”. [4]
Trump has long wanted to rule like a dictator – and his administration is signaling they intend to start now.
Here’s the good news: we have checks and balances for a reason – and Trump can’t make the worst of his anti-free speech dreams a reality without Congress’s help.
And public outcry just forced Trump’s allies on the Hill to walk back a bill that would have let him and Marco Rubio strip Americans of our passports on little more than an accusation – with no trial. [5]
MAGA wants to see how far Congress will let them go. YOUR representatives need to hear loud and clear that we’re watching and demanding they protect our First Amendment rights.

MAGA wants to make it illegal to disagree with them – but Trump can’t make the worst of his anti-free speech dreams a reality without Congress’s help.
We expect our members of Congress to continue rejecting Trump's anti-free speech crackdown. We are watching and ready to mobilize against any attacks on our First Amendment rights.
