Tell Senators Merkley and Wyden: LEAD THE CHARGE to REJECT the anti-voter SAVE Act

Senators Merkley and Wyden

The U.S. House of Representatives has passed the SAVE Act—a dangerous bill that would strip voting access from millions of Americans, including thousands right here in our state.

If it becomes law, this bill would:

  • Force voters to provide in-person proof of citizenship—like a passport or birth certificate—just to register or update their voter registration.

  • Ban online voter registration, voter registration drives, and mail-in registration.

  • Disenfranchise married women, military voters, students, and rural residents—people who already face voting barriers.

Let’s be clear: the SAVE Act is a modern-day poll tax. We still have time to pressure the Senate to stop this – but only if we speak out NOW.

We need Oregon Senators to do more than simply vote against this bill. We need them to LEAD THE CHARGE to get the entire Senate to REJECT the SAVE Act. Add your name to our petition to embolden their leadership to protect our freedom to vote.

Every eligible American deserves the freedom to vote without jumping through impossible hoops.

But the SAVE Act would scare newly naturalized citizens out of voting and make it harder for millions of eligible voters to cast a ballot—especially seniors, women, students, veterans, and rural voters.

In Oregon alone, 1,818,099 voters don’t have passports, 943,932 married women could face documentation issues, and thousands of voters used online registration that this bill would eliminate.

The SAVE Act would also ban voter registration drives and mail-in registration—tools that help reach underserved and rural communities across our state.

The Senate must REJECT the anti-voter SAVE Act and protect our right to vote.
