On Friday night, Donald Trump and his wealthy friends dressed up for a lavish, invite-only Great Gatsby-themed party – feasting, drinking, and dancing at his Mar-A-Lago resort. [1]

The next morning, millions of Americans woke up to empty fridges – wondering how they’d afford to eat after Trump cut off their SNAP benefits.

Trump’s government shutdown – now the longest in U.S. history [2] – has put 42 million children, veterans, seniors, and others at risk of not having enough to eat. [3] But instead of fixing it, Trump chose to celebrate while families go hungry.

And just today, after first promising he’d go along with a court’s ruling that he has to use emergency USDA funding for this genuine emergency – he’s back on Truth Social threatening to withhold ALL SNAP aid for hungry Americans until Congress caves on the shutdown he started. [4]

Families in need shouldn’t have to keep up with the President’s unhinged social media rants to know where their next meal is coming from. And treating hungry children like a bargaining chip is unforgivable.
