Trump must submit an ethics pledge
President-elect Donald Trump and U.S. Congress
President-elect Trump is already breaking rules meant to prevent government corruption and ensure a peaceful transition of power.
He’s refusing to submit an ethics pledge stating that he will avoid conflicts of interest – a simple requirement that every other recent president-elect (including Trump in his first term) has followed to ensure a smooth transition. [1]
Until Trump signs this agreement, he can get away with accepting unlimited contributions to his presidential transition – and doesn’t even have to disclose who any of the donors are. [2]
By refusing to sign on, Trump is leaving voters in the dark about the influence that Big Money donors and special interests are potentially trying to have on how billions of dollars will be spent by our government.
Regardless of political beliefs, everyone can agree our democracy works better when rules are followed and respected. If you agree that Trump must sign this ethics code, sign our petition now.

Donald Trump must submit an ethics pledge stating that he will avoid conflicts of interest – a simple requirement that every other recent president-elect (including Trump in his first term) has followed to ensure a smooth transition.
This is yet another example of why Congress needs to step up and codify norms and traditions that previous administrations have followed, and close the loopholes that Trump is using to avoid following this crucial rule.
